About Me
I am currently a Research Assistant at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, helping the BirdCast team use weather radar and machine learning to predict where migratory birds are stopping over during their annual migrations. The research will reveal what forest structure and composition birds prefer to stopover in and inform NRDC conservation efforts. My previous work as both an undergraduate student and a Masters student used weather radar to study migratory Tree Swallow roosts; particularly their spatial connectivity and how said connectivity is changing in response to the species population decline.
In between my bachelors and masters, I spent 4 years traveling the country as a field technician, learning the complex, diverse, and inspiring intricacies of the natural world. Throughout my travels, I have attempted to document the beauty of nature through photography. I hope to continue spending my days learning about the fundamental nature of ecology, and contribute to our understanding of nature and its wonder.
